BERNHARDSECK-CHALET

We are well-known for our good home cooking and our kitchen still cooks just like grandma did. All dishes - from dumplings, Tyrolean Gröstl (sliced pan fried onions and potatoes with or without meat) to spicy or sweet strudels - all come frome our kitchen.

We offer accommodation with breakfast or half board in our bunkroom (mattrasses laid down next to each other) for approx. 40 persons, and so you can carry on with a tour the following day. Of course, our guests can enjoy a quiet evening in the chalet and have a comfortable breakfast on our panaromic sun terrace, depending on the weather. Our chalet is ideal for a company`s gathering, a birthday party or other celebrations - with a difference! The chalet is rustic and simple, but cosy and comfortable!

History

The Bernhardseck-chalet was built between 1938 and 1940 by Paul and Leo Moll. At the end of the war in 1945 their sister Maria Hummel, born Moll, inherited the chalet, because both brothers were killed in action. Maria ran the chalet together with her husband Franz Hummel until 1970. During this time the chalet was extended and modernized. Between 1970 and 1975 the chalet was rented out to family Metzer. After that Paul Hummel took over.

From 1980 to 1992 the path to Bernhardseck was built, which improved transport possibilities considerably. With the construction of sewers down to the valley, electricity also came up to the chalet. Since then the chalet could also be opened in winter.  Armin Hummel took over the chalet in the summer of 2001 and runs it with his girlfriend Marianne and daughter Marlene, and they look forward to welcoming you.
